Lil Rice

Lil Rice

Lil Rice started her circus career at Giffords Circus in 2011 at the age of 22, dancing and singing in the cast of War and Peace as well as assisting Nell and the director Irina Brown.

Lil went on to study Cyr Wheel at The National Centre for Circus Arts in London graduating with first class honours. The act that Lil created is unique – singing while performing acrobatics in a cyr wheel. After winning the Deutsche Bank business plan award she went on to perform in, co-produce and tour the UK and Europe with her circus company Alula Cyr. Alula Cyr set world records, performed and taught at circus festivals and toured their all-female, self-produced show HYENA across the UK, France, Finland and Sweden.

In 2017/2018 she wrote and released a country/blues album with her band and then returned to Giffords Circus in the summer of 2018 to assist Nell and star in the 2019 show Xanadu with her singing cyr wheel act. Lil then took over as Producer of Giffords after her aunt’s untimely death. She produced and performed in ‘The Feast’ in 2020 then ‘The Hooley’ in 2021.

Lil has since left Giffords to focus again on performing and teaching the next generation of circus artists.
