Mark Morreau is a former circus performer, whose aerial career spanned three decades,and included tours with NoFit State and Zippos, teaching on the degree course at The Circus Space, training the aerialists for the Millennium Dome and the London 2012 Paralympic Ceremonies, and appearing on Jim’ll Fix It. Twice.
Since hanging up his leotard Mark has focussed on creating photography and video for circus, dance, and physical theatre companies. His clients include the National Centre for Circus Arts, Scarabeus Aerial Theatre, Gravity & Levity, Spymonkey, Gandini Juggling, the Royal Philharmonic Society, My Aerial Home,Ursula Martinez, and La Soiree.
Mark has recently been investigating the video/performer choreographic interaction interface: research which led to an MA Distinction from the University of The Arts, London.
Mark is currently working with Berlin-based handstand artist Natalie Reckert devising “Natalie Inside Out”, a two-person investigation into the intricacies of the handstand. “Natalie Inside Out” was the winner of the National Centre for Circus Arts / Jacksons Lane Labtime^2 award, and its further development is currently supported by The Lowry, where the show will premiere in February 2018 before touring.
