Warm Up

Here at the EADF we want you to get the most from your festival, be well prepared for your day and learn more about how to look after yourself as an aerial practitioner. It is therefore highly recommended that you attend a taught warm up class. Listed below are a variety of classes to choose from.

VAYU Aerial Yoga Class: All levels

The focus of this class will be to open and connect the body slowly ungluing fascia, becoming aware of the breath.

Through specific articulation of movement we incorporate strength and the lengthening of the muscles isometrically to create core strength and balance in a tri-dimensional way.

The Vayu practice takes the body to a much deeper level. Using the support of the swing we are able to challenge the body moving through various postures, as well as allowing the nervous system to relax, encouraging a letting go into complete surrender Preparing and re-setting the body in a supported, intelligent manner.

This class is open to all levels.

Vinyasa Yoga: All levels

An energizing yoga class to warm up, open and balance the body in readiness for the day ahead. 

You’ll be led through a series of flowing asanas to gently tone the body, increase the range of movement and improve general agility and coordination

If you have a yoga/exercise mat please bring it with you.

Dance: All levels 

Easing you gently into your day; this is a head-to-toe warm up, that will generate heat in the body through breath, and open the body through a series of repetitive short movement sequences which we’ll build on as the week progresses. This is essentially a warm up i.e. not heavy on learning sequences so is suitable for all levels.

Personal Warm Up: Skilled/Advanced practitioners only

However if you’re an experienced practitioner and understand how to prepare your body adequately for the day ahead then this space is available for you to warm up in should you choose to. Please note there will be an aerial yoga class happening at the other end of the space so please do be respectful of this. If you have a yoga mat please bring it with you.

Contact Dance: All levels (warm up or warm down)

Magalie will guide you through a series of improvisational tasks working in pairs and in groups, gently giving and taking weight and finding techniques for flying, partnering and floor work with momentum and sensitivity.
