There are no classes available for your current selection.

Warm Up – It is compulsory that you take a warm up if you are attending a morning class. We can’t stress enough how important a good warm up is to prepare you for your day ahead whilst also giving you some really useful information to take away and there’s a great selection to choose from.

Please pick one from the following options or email Lindsey on info @gravity-levity if you have exceptional circumstances.

Body conditioning for harness (and life!)

Starting with activities to raise the heart rate, this warm up session will then focus on conditioning exercises (Wanda Moretti’s Vertical Suspension Training for Dancers) specifically designed as preparation for harness work.  We will use some of the equipment from harness work (ropes and ascenders) to create unstable bases for developing core stability. Working in pairs, the focus will be on developing strength and mobility in the lumbar spine, the connection between the lumbar spine and the abdominal muscles and building stability in the oblique muscles.

VAYU Aerial Yoga

An aerial yoga practice created by Ana Prada, the focus of this class will be to open and connect the body slowly and becoming aware of the breath.

The Vayu practice takes the body to a much deeper level. Using the support of the swing we are able to challenge the body moving through various postures, as well as allowing the nervous system to relax, encouraging a letting go into complete surrender Preparing and re-setting the body in a supported, intelligent manner.

Lee has worked extensively with Ana and teaches the aerial yoga pre-training alongside her, he also has a long-standing yoga practice.

Chantal trained with Anna in 2017 and loves teaching Vayu as a warm up to help you start the day from a relaxed and open place.

This class is open to all levels.

Yoga

Lorna will be offering you innovative vinyasa warm-ups, which will include both strong and gentle options making her classes accessible to a wide range of abilities; jump-backs and chaturangas or step-backs to the knees and everything in between! Each session will close with a short relaxation.

Dance - Improver upwards

A festival hit every year this class will ease you gently into your day. Beginning with a floor warm that pays attention to sensation, initiation and weight we’ll then expand into exploring balance and falling off of it finding ease of movement in and out of the floor.

Drawing from release and yoga, this class culminates with learning phrases to find control, abandon and fluidity.

NB you should have some dance experience to join this class

Cyr Wheel Clinic - Intermediate upwards

This class is designed to teach you how to make more accurate self-assessments’, increase your understanding of how to move better and improve strength, flexibility and coordination.

We will look at injury patterns associated with cyr wheel, different ways to prepare the body for the demands of training from a biomechanical/ physiological and neural perspective and techniques to train the vestibular system to reduce the effects of dizziness.

There will also be opportunity to go into a more in-depth study of individual difficulties/limitations you might be experiencing in your practice.

Lunchtime warm ups

You asked for lunchtime warm ups /or cools downs so here you go.

Dance

Lee is the most wonderful teacher and will have you dancing through your lunch break.

A mainstay of the Irish ADF, where by the end of week 1 everyone is in his class – yep, he’s that good! A feel-good class designed to generate heat and open the body, progressing through a series of short accessible sequences, building into moving across the floor and from there out into the world, ready to tackle whatever the rest of the day throws your way!

Yoga

Warm up or cool down with Jo's lunchtime Yoga sessions to feel calm and refreshed. This is Jo's first EADF festival, though she's no stranger to teaching at The Point.

Local born and bred, Jo has been practicing yoga for the last 20 years, exploring several different approaches along the way and being influenced by a wide variety of yoga styles.

Her classes incorporate focused, mindful movement and breath work, developing self-awareness, physical and mental strength and flexibility and expanding the capacity to cope with modern day stress. Sessions always end with a meditative relaxation leaving you peaceful and revitalised.
