Gyrokinesis®, known as Yoga for Dancers, was created by Juliu Horvat and is designed to work the entire body through spinal movement and joint articulation. Based on the body’s natural ability to move forward and backwards and side-to-side, the movements are designed to be rhythmic and fluid. Rather than specific postures of stances being held for long periods of time, the movements are smoothly integrated, seeming more like a dance than traditional yoga.
Class starts on a chair or stool where you warm up your spine. You progress onto the floor where you address the hips, back and abs. You never hold a position for long but work at creating a fluid connection between the postures, developing a dance that is invigorating and toning
